Board
certified family practitioner, Dr. Mark Shafik, was born in
southern California and graduated from Plano Senior High School
in 1996. Following high school, he was awarded a football
scholarship from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and
played on the school’s national championship team from 1996-1997.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Sciences
from SWOSU, he went on to receive his MD from Ross Medical
School, a recognized leader in international medical education
located in Dominica.
Dr. Shafik served a two-year residency at The University
of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Norman, Oklahoma. His
first two years of practice were spent in Chicago and Oklahoma
before joining the staff of Advanced Comprehensive Medical
in 2010.
Dr. Shafik’s attitude toward family practice medicine can
perhaps best be summed up by the saying, "To love is
to care, and to care is to be a physician." His caring
attitude and impeccable skills have made Dr. Shafik one of
the most highly-respected family practitioners in the area
and an invaluable addition to our medical staff.
As an avid athlete, Dr. Shafik has participated in a variety
of sports including football, wrestling and track & field.
Despite his active and disciplined lifestyle, he also struggled
with his weight for much of his life. However, thanks to the
HCG diet, Dr. Shafik has lost over 120 pounds and has a passion
for helping his patients achieve similar results with this
amazing medical breakthrough.
