Orthopedic physical therapy focuses on the treatment of the musculoskeletal system and is often prescribed in conjunction with chiorpractic care. This type of physical therapy is typically prescribed for our patients who have undergone a debilitating surgery or suffered a work- or sports-related injury or an injury resulting from auto accidents.

We also offer geriatric physical therapy for our patients suffering from balance disorders, arthritis, osteoporosis and other age-related conditions.

Neurological physical therapy is designed to address the needs of our patients who have suffered strokes, injuries to the brain and spinal cord. This type of physical therapy has also been proven to be effective for those who suffer from a variety of other neurological conditions including muscular sclerosis (MS), Alzheimer's, cerebral palsy and Parkinson's.

We also offer cardiovascular physical therapy for our patients who suffer from cardiovascular conditions to help them improve their endurance and increase their range of motion following surgery.

Occupational Therapy in Plano, Richardson, Allen, McKinney, Frisco, and North Dallas

Occupational therapy focuses primarily on helping patients improve their functional abilities and life skills following a debilitating injury or illness. Our occupational therapy services are provided by Jennifer Hale, OTR. Jennifer has extensive experience in the field and specializes in the treatment of spinal cord injuries, driving instruction for the physically handicapped and neuro re-education. She is licensed and board certified and has worked in acute, long-term-acute and outpatient facilities.

Treatment of Auto Accident Injuries

We specialize in the treatment of automobile accident injuries to the head, neck, back and limbs. Depending on the type and severity of your auto accident-related injury, you may require physical therapy , chiropractic care or a combination of the two. Our interdisciplinary approach to care ensures that you receive the best, most appropriate treatment for your particular condition.

Our physical therapy and occupational therapy treatments include:

  • Cryotherapy (cold pack) - used for the treatment of musculoskeletal sprains and some neuromuscular conditions, cryotherapy causes vasoconstriction, a reduction in nerve conduction velocity and skeletal muscle tension which reduces pain, muscle spasms, swelling and edema.
  • Electrical stimulation - used in muscle conditioning and strengthening. It increases blood flow and joint flexibility while reducing edema and muscle spasms.
  • Fomentation (hot pack) - used for superficial heat induction. Fomentation enhances vasodilation and increases nerve conduction velocity and cutaneous circulation, while reducing pain caused by excessive skeletal muscle tension.
  • Mechanical traction - used to re-establish the curvature of the spine. Mechanical traction facilitates distraction of joint facets and reduces edema, muscle spasms and tissue congestion as well as fibrotic tissues and adhesions.
  • PNF stretches - designed to rehabilitate or re-establish functionality of joints and muscles. This technique can be used to increase joint flexibility, muscle strength and tone, endurance and range of motion.
  • Ultrasound - utilizes high-frequency sound waves to deeply penetrate the soft tissue. Vibration of these injured tissues causes vasodilation of blood vessels which results in an increase in oxygen, minerals, and nutrients and a reduction in cell debris.

Our team of board certified physical therapists, occupational therapists, , chiropractors, nutritional consultants and massage therapists offer a holistic approach to treatment that helps restore your strength and mobility and promote your long-term health and well being.

We know that your time is valuable and offer flexible scheduling options and minimal wait times for our patients with scheduled appointments.
